Step Into Darkness

To understand Darkness is to understand the very Nature of the human experience. The Nature of Darkness in many cultures elicits feelings of fear, anxiety, insecurity and loneliness. If we take a moment to dissect even the most mundane and superficial qualities of Darkness, we can bring new emotional and spiritual awareness to the subject.

Biologically speaking all life forms requires either a light/dark cycle or total Darkness to exist. It is simple to cast a gaze upon a beautiful tree and admire its green foliage without contemplating that which sustains the tree, is hidden below the surface in total Darkness. We then need to think about how the tree was sprouted from a seed which contained the embryonic life force that now looms in your presence; a seed whose beginnings emerged from total Darkness. All biological life, including human conception, springs forth from the absence of light.

We see through cultural histories ages which are named after Darkness, terms such as "Dark night of the soul”, things that go bump in the night, Boogey men, ghosts, goblins and all manner of creepy crawly phenomena that are to be avoided. The acknowledgement of our very own shadow-self is taught to be avoided at all costs.

We see in "white light" religions the distancing of one’s self from its shadow in order to appease a higher power. This is done so at the expense of the individual's own sanity and well being. Without confronting our inner Darkness we find a certain kind of neurosis form in place of Gnosis of our true nature. This is clearly illustrated by the multitude of heinous events that have transpired over the past few years. Senseless killings, a culture out of control and communities dismantled all for lack of recognition to our Darkness. People are quick to point out the role that psychotropic drugs or mental illness play in crimes against humanity and I can only half agree. People are failing to see that these are merely symptoms and not the problem but people want a villain and they want it now. Society at large does not concern itself with the means they only seek to get to the end.

It is my intent to dispel some of the age old myths regarding the Darkness that dwells within all of us. I will provide the tools necessary to open the conduit between the macro and microcosms in order to effect a sustainable change within the Self. This blog is not for those who are easily offended or overly attached to their beliefs because I will talk discuss unpopular subjects.

For those on the spiritual path I will focus on the differences between the Left and Right hand paths. Christianity, Wicca, Satanism, Witchcraft, Astrology and any other Occult studies that strike my fancy will be brought up for discussion. Murder, suicide, capital punishment and the decay of modern culture will also be put on the chopping block. A oneness with depression and other mental disorders that are caused by the dismissal of Darkness will be brought out of the closet.

On my blog I will not sensor anyone who chooses to post a comment. You are all here of your own Will and it is not my place to interfere. Please enjoy and I hope you take something meaningful from my Musings.
Be Well...-JD
